To continue our ongoing support for the Heart Foundation, the Fulton Hogan Flyers will be completing a virtual cycle challenge this year. We will ride 50,000km from 1 July to 31 October 2020. (That's three and a half laps of Australia!)
Due to coronavirus and the risk to the community, Bicycle Queensland have made the difficult decision to cancel all mass participation events this year. This includes the Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle Challenge - an event the Fulton Hogan Flyers have participated in for the past eight years, raising over $140,000 for the Heart Foundation to date.
The coronavirus has had a big impact on the community and unfortunately the loss of 108 lives in Australia. People living with heart disease are more vulnerable to severe complications from COVID-19. It's never been more critical to invest in research into the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease.
Did you know that heart disease is Australia’s single biggest killer, taking the lives of 48 people every day?
This is a difficult challenge but we are committed to giving it a go to help raise funds for lifesaving heart research.
The amazing support we have achieved to date has allowed us to not only reach our initial fundraising target of $10,000, but our stretch target of $16,000. We are now aiming for $20,000 to make an even greater impact in the fight against heart disease.
Please support us in this quest by donating to the Heart Foundation. Thank you.
